Advancing our understanding of how plant microbiomes drive the health and functioning of agroecosystems
The Garrido-Sanz group studies the ecology of plant-associated microbial communities, with a particular focus on the rhizosphere and its interactions with wheat as a model crop. Our research explores how these microbiomes assemble, interact with their host plants, and function within agroecosystems. By combining experimental and computational approaches, including classical microbiology, molecular biology, and cutting-edge 'omics technologies, we aim to uncover the ecological principles that drive microbiome assembly and their contributions to plant health and ecosystem functioning.
